Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice: February 2011

This month has been especially fun!

Lily is intrigued by EVERYTHING and can barely focus on eating because she is too busy being interested in all the things that are going on around her.

She is finally able to suck just her thumb, instead of her whole hand, so that was a big development for her a couple weeks ago.

She impressed her doctor with how well she sits up, and she even sat in a high chair the last time we were in a restaurant instead of in her car seat in a sling.

She has started realizing who strangers are and signaling when she wants mommy or daddy. No screaming sessions when left with someone else yet, thank goodness.
She has moved up to 7 ounces of formula recently and will be starting solids in a couple weeks- we are very excited because we think this will be lots of fun. Right now she just sits in her high chair to watch Mommy in the kitchen, but we look forward to using it for real!

Bathtime is still one of my favorite times!!!

We finally had a day where the weather was decent enough to stroll. She starts a walk very excited and happy, but as we get a little further along walking in the stroller has the effect of putting her into a daze. She gets very still and just stares at everything we pass. Even after we take her out at home she just seems very chilled out. We laugh the whole walk that it seems like someone has drugged her because she is just that calm.

Sitting in her bumbo happily for once, although she normally struggles against it- she wants to sit on her own, and I think it makes her feel restricted.
