Memorial Day 2012

Today we all decided to go to the zoo.

Every time Lily would hand the giraffe a leaf she would say "woooowwwww..."

The coyotes were very playful, much like puppies. Clay had a good time getting them all riled up.

Lily loves to drum on things and calls it "making a song."

After the zoo and Lily's nap, we went swimming at the pool, and then came home to grill. Now we are about to make dessert!

Muffins with Mom

Today was "Muffins with Mom" at MELA. I got to sit in Lily's classroom from 8-9am and eat muffins with her and watch her play. It was so fun to watch her interact with all her classmates. Every once in awhile she would run over and hop in my lap for a couple seconds.

Here we are in the backseat on our way there - she was actually saying "mommy" when I took the picture.

We had some orange juice and she would take a sip, then say "mommy's turn" and have me take one.

It was really nice to just be able to leisurely spend time with her before going to work. I wish I could do that every morning.

I also got some sweet artwork that her teachers had helped her to make. I love little hand prints!

Before I left I picked up her first ever class picture. Poor thing - I forgot when it was picture day and she was dressed in a tank and gym shorts. They brushed her hair into a mullet, too, haha!

I had gone to talk to another mom after I left, so when I was walking to the car, I passed her class walking down the hall on their rope. I said "I love you!" and did the hand sign for it, and she did it back to me. Then her teacher said "say 'goodbye mommy'", and ALL the kids said "goodbye mommy" - haha. Then Lily shouted "MY mommy." It was really funny.

I can't wait until this weekend!

Singing

Lily is in a stage where she is singing a whole lot, and she is always wanting us to sing with her. Sometimes I hear a little voice singing and I will find her sitting on her bed with a book and stuffed animals singing to herself.

I also was able to record her singing in the car Sunday night.
