Baby and Family Photo Shoot

Penny's 1st Month

1 Month stats:

21 Inches

8 lbs 14 ounces

This was a very challenging, but amazing month. I have gone through so many trials with nursing Penny, finding out about her lip tie, and having it released. I expected that to be a magic fix and it wasn't. Pumping is exhausting. That's when we found the chiropractor. Yes, for a baby. I know - I was shocked they do that, too. It has made all of the difference for us. Penny finally latches again and we are now able to nurse, even though my supply is still pretty pathetic. It is getting better every day, though, and I am now able to spend less time pumping.

In spite of the struggles, I have really enjoyed being home with her. I forgot how amazing the newborn stage it. Yes, I am sleep deprived like crazy, but that tiny, snuggly baby girl makes everything better. And with this baby, I have actually been able to accomplish daily showers and house cleaning :)

She broke out of the sleepy stage around the 3 week mark, and has been peering around with the widest eyes ever since then. She is the squirmiest, noisiest baby I have ever seen. We had to move her into her own room at 3 weeks old because I just couldn't sleep. She makes all these little squeaks and grunting noises all the time.

Clay and I are both struggling with time. We thought it went by quickly with Lily, but that was nothing compared to this. I am SO not ready to go back to work anytime soon, but I know that day is quickly approaching. For now, I am trying to soak in every moment that I can.
