I'm sure every modern mom does a lot of internet searching after having her first baby, and believe me, I have done more than my fair share. While researching different topics, I found the website of a pediatrician whose advice I found to be very helpful. She had advice on nearly everything I could think of, and in case anyone is interested in her site, this is it: http://www.drjen4kids.com/
I friended her on facebook, and when Lily was around 4 months old, she posted a link to the following book:
Clay and I both read this book, and we decided that we really wanted to try this method of introducing Lily to solid foods. At first I mourned the idea of not doing purees. I had so many plans, even before she was born, of all the homemade baby food I was going to make. It has been hard to wait to start until she was older, because this is a relatively new idea in the world of baby food, and there isn't a lot of support for it. But, now I could not be happier with our choice to do this. I ransacked the Publix produce section tonight- I never knew what an adventure fruits and vegetables could be! We are so excited for her to try everything!
Lily's 1st BLW meal:
sauteed chicken and asparagus, with mango and avacado
Yummm... chicken!!!
I will crush this avacado before I eat it...
All the cool kids love asparagus!
More food fun:
As you can see, she loved every minute of trying solid food for the first time- and we could not be more proud of her!!!
A special shout-out to Nana - thanks for the bibs you made! As you can see, she will be putting them to some good use!!!
