Dentist!!!!!

Lily had her first dental visit this morning - this was very exciting for me, because now that she is past 1 year old, we don't have as many "firsts".

Playing in the waiting room:

Using the appointment room like a jungle gym:

Dr. Michaud did a "lap exam" where Clay held her and Lily lay backwards into her lap. Lily was not happy with this at all, and cried when the doctor was looking in her mouth. Dr. Michaud was so great and even sang to her as she was looking into her mouth.

But it only lasted maybe 2 minutes, and she got a special mineral varnish put on her teeth to make them strong. She LOVES brushing her teeth, so when she got to brush them at the end she was happy again.

Playing with her squeaky frog that the dentist gave her:

We learned that Lily's teeth are coming in more tightly together than a lot of toddlers. Her teeth are close together like adults, instead of having space in between like normal. That means me have to start attempting to floss her teeth. Luckily they have those portable flossers that we can just swipe down between her teeth instead of trying to use a string of floss. It will still be an adventure!!!
